As a pilot program, in partnership with Akoya Ventures Inc, Outstretched Hands CDC and Æffect.Change Cooperative Initiative is proposing an Aquaponics Summer Program for 20-30 teens and young adults to acquire the skill-sets of constructing, maintaining, operating, and harvesting greenhouse grown, marketable produce.

This programs goal is to create an education component of interest and purpose for the community, while providing a beneficial skill-set to teens and young adults, ages 17-22, who have either been affiliated with gang activity, incarcerated or having criminal records. It will be opened to all demographics and will be non-gender specific.

The program will also add value to the community by fostering healthier food options, holding pop-up farmer's markets in urban food desert areas, and offering workshops on gardening, diet and nutrition.
